Getting There
By train to Harrogate:
- London King’s Cross – 2 hours 45 minutes
- Liverpool – 2 hours
- Manchester – 1 hour 45 minutes
- Leeds – 22 minutes
From Harrogate station it’s just a 3 1/2 mile or 10-minute car transfer to Rudding Park, unless you need a thoroughly recommended, divert into Betty’s for a legendary afternoon tea!
First Impressions
Set within 300 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and woodland, Rudding Park is just stunning.
And that won’t be the last time I use the word stunning too!
I had high expectations of Rudding Park, just an instinct thing but partially based on seeing the venue before but that was further back than I’d like to admit.
I was hoping this would be one of those venues that simply gets everything right. It did—and then some.
Originally a non-residential manor house, Rudding Park has evolved over the past few decades, adding not only two wings of accommodation but also a stunning spa.
I first visited long before the bedrooms were built, when it was already a beautiful country house events venue, but with the addition of the accommodation and the spa, the hotel ticks so many boxes for corporate events now.

Accommodation
The first accommodation to be added was the Ribston Wing (entry level), followed later by the Follifoot Wing, giving the hotel a total of 89 bedrooms, plus a small number of self-catering lodges and cottages within the estate.

I stayed in one of the Ribston rooms, the entry-level category, and honestly, I would never have guessed it was the lowest level if I hadn’t have seen the other upgraded rooms.
The Follifoot Wing takes things up another level. The design feels more bespoke, with lovely touches such as roll-top baths, etc.
Hotel Layout
The hotel’s layout flows naturally.
From reception, turning right leads to the accommodation. Guests first pass through the Ribston rooms corridors before reaching the Follifoot Wing. There’s no obvious divide between the two.
The spa entrance sits between the two bedroom areas.
Although they’re referred to as “wings”, the hotel feels cohesive throughout rather than segmented.
Turning left from reception takes you into the hotel’s main bar and restaurant before leading through to the original manor house, where you’ll find the meeting and event spaces.

The Spa
Harrogate became famous during the Victorian era for its natural spring waters, attracting visitors from across the country to “take the waters”. Rudding Park has embraced that heritage, with the spa making use of natural spring water from within the estate.
Hotel residents have complimentary access to the indoor pool.
The spa also operates as a standalone destination, offering spa days and experiences. If you’re wanting to book treatments during your stay, you’ll need to book one of these experiences rather than simply reserving an individual facial, pedicure or similar.
One of the Spa’s highlights is the rooftop spa garden and hydrotherapy pool.
For event organisers, this space offers more than relaxation—it can also be hired privately, making it an excellent setting for pre-dinner drinks, networking receptions or VIP gatherings with an unexpected backdrop.
Meetings & Events
Rudding Park has an impressive 19 meeting rooms, all with natural daylight.
Ground Floor meeting rooms
Starting furthest away from reception but with its own dedicated entrance is the main ground floor meeting room, The Radcliffe, with a capacity of 350 delegates theatre style.
Opposite is the Drawing Room, which connects with an internal lobby leading to both the Blue Room and Library.
Together these spaces work so well in terms of conference flow:
- Main plenary session in The Radcliffe
- Catering and refreshments in the Drawing Room
- Breakouts in the Blue Bar and Library
Further along the corridor are the Rudding Bar and Jupiter, giving another really good option of using one for refreshments or registration and the other as the main meeting room.

First Floor meeting rooms
Upstairs there are more meeting rooms.
My favourite is The Crosby, accommodating up to 100 delegates theatre style.
It’s an L-shaped room that works brilliantly. The main meeting area leads naturally into a completely separate private bar and lounge space, ideal for refreshment breaks, networking or buffet lunches without needing to leave the room.

Food & Drink
The hotel’s main restaurant and bar are complemented by a generously large terrace complete with sofas, dining tables, patio heaters and blankets.
On a summer evening it’s perfect, complete with a water feature so you have that noise of running water in the background.
For smaller groups and something memorable, Rudding Park is also home to FIFTY TWO, an immersive dining experience located within the grounds.
Accommodating up to 20 guests, with exclusive hire available, it provides a fantastic option for VIP dinners, executive groups or incentive programmes looking for something a little different.
Summary
Rudding Park is an impressive balance between luxury leisure destination and highly capable conference hotel.
The beautiful setting, exceptional spa, quality accommodation and extensive meeting facilities mean it comfortably caters for everything from board meetings and leadership retreats to large conferences, incentive groups and exclusive events.

Rudding Park is classed as a 4star property. It’s an independant family run hotel.
What would it cost to hold a meeting at Rudding Park?
Currently (July 2026) the Day Delegate Rate is £75 inc. VAT and the 24hour rate is £260 or £365 inc. VAT depending on whether you’re in a Ribston or Follifoot room but these rates will vary according to high and low peak and how a new event enquiry fits in the venues diary.

Are there any other leisure facilities apart from the Spa ?
Yes, the hotel also has two golf courses and the residents gym is open from 6.30am to 10.30pm. Residents also have access to the indoor pool, Juniper Log Sauna and Bucket shower.
